Pasco County Fire Rescue issued the following announcement on October 31.
Happy Halloween Pasco!! Whether you’ll be trick-or-treating or passing out candy this evening, please keep these safety tips in mind:
* Make sure children are carrying flashlights and wearing reflective clothing to ensure they can be seen in the dark.
* Always walk on sidewalks or paths and cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.
* Try using battery operated candles in decorations and pumpkins instead of open flames to reduce the risk of fire.
* Remove tripping hazards to keep your home safe for visiting trick-or-treaters. Keep all exits and exit paths clear of decorations.
