Commencement Ceremony for R-609 & R-610

We are elated to announce that, as of this morning, Pasco County Fire Rescue’s first ever dedicated Paramedic Transport Surge Units, Rescue 609 and Rescue 610, are officially in service to be dispatched on emergency medical service incidents in the busiest parts of our community, at the busiest times!

These units will advance our emergency medical service capability for the citizens and visitors of Pasco County, and we wanted to share this moment of history in our pathway towards providing premier levels of service with those we are proud to serve. Unlike other Pasco County Fire Rescue units in the County, which are staffed 24 hours a day with dual certified medical and fire responders, the Paramedic Surge Units will be staffed in 12-hour shifts, and focus exclusively on the emergency medical demands throughout the community.

Fire Chief Scott Cassin conducted a brief Commencement Ceremony for R-609 & R-610 on September 19, 2022, prior to the units venturing out in the community to provide professional, compassionate, responses to calls for service! Welcome to the family, R-609 & R-610!
