Pasco County Monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole

The Pasco Board of County Commissioners is expected to issue a Local State of Emergency November 9, 2022, for Pasco County ahead of Subtropical Storm Nicole. This allows the County Administrator and Emergency Management Director to waive everyday procedures and do what they feel is necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our community.

Pasco County Emergency Management is closely monitoring the storm and is encouraging you to be prepared for the possibility of strong winds and heavy rain in the next few days, especially in the eastern part of Pasco County, as the system makes its way across Florida.

•    Secure loose items around your home & yard: lawn chairs, umbrellas, trash cans, etc.

•    Sign up for Alert Pasco & download the MyPasco App for county updates

•    Monitor our website MyPasco.net and our social media platforms for county updates

Pasco County has two sandbag stations to help protect your property from potential flooding:

•    Magnolia Valley Golf Course: 7223 Massachusetts Avenue, New Port Richey

•    Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn): 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio

Sandbag sites are self-serve and open 24/7 to Pasco County residents. Sandbags are provided, but you must bring your own shovels to fill the bags. Crews will restock sand daily.

Dade City is also providing sand and bags through Wednesday, November 9 at noon:

• Former Dade City Police Department building, 38042 Pasco Avenue, Dade City

Pasco County is not issuing any evacuation orders or opening shelters at this time; however, if you live in a home susceptible to high winds and would like to leave, please consider staying with family, friends or at a local hotel.
