Name Change: Pasco County Code Compliance

The men and women working to make Pasco County’s neighborhoods and communities safer, cleaner and more attractive, will now be known as our Code Compliance team.  The department’s name change from Code Enforcement to Code Compliance will help emphasize that our focus is on education.  Code Compliance officers strive to help customers come into compliance before issuing warnings or citations.

Reasons for the name change:

  • Reduce confusion: Code Compliance is not Law Enforcement
  • Focus on education: Why – and how – to come into compliance
“We want to educate our community members about the importance of compliance and erase the negative stigma associated with the idea of enforcement,” said Code Compliance Director Patrick Arotin.  “Enforcement is the last step in the code compliance process.”

Code Compliance focuses on helping people understand the primary purpose of county codes, which are designed to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of everyone living in or visiting Pasco County. Code Compliance helps support a vibrant community by ensuring code compliance and supporting neighborhood enhancement efforts.
