Volunteering a little of your time can help others soar and reach new heights! Pasco County Libraries is looking for volunteers to help launch a new adult literacy initiative with a training workshop Saturday, January 21, at New River Library.

WHAT: Adult Literacy Tutor Training

WHEN: Saturday, January 21, 2023 10:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: New River Library 34043 State Road 54 Wesley Chapel, FL

Volunteer requirements include:

•    18 years or older

•    Proficient in English language

•    Efficient computer skills

•    Complete 6-hour training

•    Dedication to helping others

•    Sensitive to all backgrounds

•    Respectful of confidentiality

•    Participate in tutoring sessions

As a volunteer, you’ll tutor adults on improving their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to meet their individual literacy goals.

“Literacy is a long-standing mission of Pasco County Libraries,” said New River Library Regional Manager Angelo Liranzo. “Through our staff and the volunteers, this is the embodiment of neighbors helping neighbors.”
