New I-75/Overpass Road Interchange Opens | Pasco County Florida

New I-75/Overpass Road Interchange Opens | Pasco County Florida

The long-anticipated interchange at I-75 and Overpass Road in eastern Pasco County, between County Road 54 (CR 54) and State Road 52 (SR 52), is open! The interchange is designed to cut down your travel time and provides drivers another option to enter and exit the interstate. This Pasco County-funded project was completed through a partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

The new interchange addresses the projected increase in traffic in the area – significantly reducing volume and delays on CR 54 and SR 52.  The new, diamond-shaped interchange includes a flyover ramp for westbound Overpass Road access onto southbound I-75. Construction on the $64.6 million project began in October 2020, and the interchange officially opened January 18, 2023.

Project Highlights Include:

  • New interchange at I-75 and Overpass Road
  • Four lanes on Overpass Road, from Old Pasco Road to I-75
  • Six lanes, plus two auxiliary lanes, on Overpass Road, from Boyette Road to I-75

Pasco County partnered with FDOT on this design-build interchange project over I-75, an interstate highway. The Middlesex Corporation is the design-build contractor for the project.
