Keep Our Waterways Clean And Clear | Pasco County Florida
#PascoCounty is known for its many waterways, but did you know we’re no stranger to invasive and noxious weeds? These can cause big problems in our stormwater system. In Florida, more than 96% of the state’s waterways contain non-native plants, making it difficult to enjoy water sports or even control flooding.
Pasco has a dedicated team working to keep our waterways clean and clear – by controlling these pesky plants.Recently, Aquatic Weed Control Specialists Joe and Anthony attacked an invasion of Cogon Grass, a plant the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services calls one of the “Top 10 Worst Weeds in the World.” The team sprayed the overgrown vegetation in the Plantations Palms community in Land O’ Lakes and on Starkey Boulevard in western Pasco County.
It may be a thankless, never-ending job, but Joe and Anthony are fighting to keep Pasco’s waterways, ditches and roadsides clear – and our stormwater system flowing smoothly.
