On November 18, 2024, Gus Bilirakis announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at promoting drug development to treat rare diseases. He shared this update with the public via a tweet: "ICYMI – I recently introduced legislation that will help spur drug development to treat rare diseases."

Later that day, he addressed issues related to hurricane relief efforts in another tweet posted on November 18, 2024. He expressed concerns about alleged political bias affecting FEMA's response to hurricane victims who supported President Trump: "We're demanding answers & accountability for the hurricane victims ignored by FEMA because of their support for President Trump. This blatant political vendetta against Americans during a time of crisis is disgusting and unacceptable."
