Gus Bilirakis, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 12th district, recently shared his views on international and domestic issues through a series of tweets. His remarks touch upon topics such as international hostage situations and national defense policies.

On December 11, 2024, Gus Bilirakis expressed his determination to ensure the defeat of Hamas and the safe return of hostages. He stated, "Today's conversation has bolstered my resolve to ensure Hamas is utterly destroyed & every hostage makes it home alive. These families deserve to be reunited. The time to act is now!" He thanked AJC Global for facilitating these discussions on Capitol Hill.

In another tweet from the same day, Bilirakis mentioned the release of Aviva while noting that Keith remains in captivity along with Romi Garen, who was kidnapped after attending the Nova Festival. He wrote, "Aviva has been released, but Keith remains in captivity w Romi Garen who was shot & kidnapped after attending the Nova Festival." He praised Romi's courage amidst her ordeal.

Later that day, Bilirakis commented on what he perceives as weak leadership by the Biden Administration on international matters. He suggested that this emboldens adversaries and indicated that the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would pave the way for stronger leadership under former President Trump. He asserted, "We’ve seen our adversaries emboldened by the Biden Administration’s weak leadership on the international stage."
