Pasco County, Florida, Government issued the following announcement on August 6.
Making Pasco County beautiful—one tree at a time!
Pasco County Public Works is sprucing up Starkey Boulevard in New Port Richey. Maple and Oak trees along the road are being safely removed and replanted in other areas of the county. We’ve found they don’t do well near roadways because their roots expand, damaging the road base, which can become a safety hazard for drivers.
Our crews are working for the next couple of weeks, planting Crepe Myrtles in their place. Other plants will be added, as well, bringing new life to the area!
The Starkey Boulevard beautification work will run through August 17, weather permitting, and shouldn’t have any impact on traffic. For more information on this Pasco County Public Works project, visit: bit.ly/3Achb6R #PascoProud
