Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller issued the following announcement on January 7.
WEDDING EVENT MOVES TO VALENTINE'S DAY MORNING
Our Office's tradition of providing a memorable wedding opportunity each February 14 gets a slight wrinkle in 2022: The 14th annual Valentine's Day nuptials are set for 11 a.m., moving from its customary 2 p.m. slot.
Everything else remains the same. We arrange the venue, the officiant, the decorations and refreshments, even the photographers. And local businesses sweeten the deal with gifts and discounts.
All couples need do is apply for a marriage license (by close of business Feb. 11) and register for the event. The rest is as free as it is uncomplicated. Simply want to renew your vows? Just contact us! No license is required.
More than 260 couples have tied the knot with us since we began this tradition back in 2009, including 23 last year when we overcame the twin whammy of COVID-19 and inclement weather.
To reiterate: Apply for a marriage license and register for the event at either of our Official Records locations: the East Pasco and West Pasco government centers. Or jangle us on the phone: (352) 521-4406 or (727) 847-8086.
We take care of the rest: The site, the decorations, the officiant (Clerk of Court Nikki Alvarez-Sowles), the photography, the refreshments. The only cost to participants: the marriage license application fee.
Deadline for registration is the close of business Friday, Feb. 11.
