Pasco County Fire Rescue issued the following announcement on March 9.
Mid-day house fire sends one to Tampa General Hospital with severe burns
At approximately noon, Pasco Fire Rescue received a 911 call from a delivery driver of a home fire in the 5200 Blk of Eagle Drive in Holiday. When firefighters arrived, they reported a single-family home with fire and smoke showing from the roof.
Firefighters started their initial fire attack and search of the home when dispatch notified them of a possible victim inside. Firefighters quickly headed to the victim's last known location inside the house and pulled the victim from inside the fire. Pasco County Fire Rescue Paramedics attempted life-saving interventions on the patient. Ultimately, the victim sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital.
It took firefighters approximately a half-hour to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and no further injuries were reported. #PCFRNews
