Pasco County Fire Rescue issued the following announcement on March 30.
It was a hot day inside the Covanta Pasco power plant boiler room as our special operations division trained on rescuing patients from workplace injuries.

Firefighters practiced confined space techniques to quickly rescue employees and contractors from inside a boiler unit at the plant. Firefighters lowered themselves through a small opening on the roof of the boiler to rescue the simulated victim at the bottom.
This type of “real world” training is critical to keeping our special operations team in tip top shape and ready to step in where needed!
