New Port Richey, FL: U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis is set to host his annual Heroes Among Us Celebration to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of 92 outstanding volunteers in Florida’s 12th Congressional District. This district encompasses Citrus and Hernando and parts of Pasco Counties.
Expressing his admiration for the nominees, Congressman Gus Bilirakis remarked, "I was inspired when reading the submissions that were sent in as nominations. From a Veteran with PTS mentoring others as they return from the battlefield, to a retired nurse who has found a way to continue providing critical health coaching for chronically ill patients even after she has lost her own vision, to parents of an autistic child funding classroom renovations in public schools which are designed to ensure children of all ability levels reach their highest potential…the individuals who are being honored truly represent the best of the best in our community."
The event aims to highlight the selfless dedication of individuals who have significantly impacted their community through their hard work and commitment. These heroes have generously contributed their time, skills, and resources to uplift those around them.
All local government entities and non-profit organizations in the district were invited to nominate individuals who have made a difference in their communities. The nominees exemplify the spirit of service and compassion, embodying the essence of community support and solidarity.
The Heroes Among Us Celebration serves as a platform to acknowledge and appreciate the positive influence these everyday heroes have had on society. Their stories of resilience, kindness, and generosity serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for others to follow.
