Gus Bilirakis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 12th district, recently shared several updates on social media regarding energy legislation and scientific research. The congressman has been serving since 2007 after succeeding Michael Bilirakis. He continues to engage with constituents and stakeholders on important legislative matters.

On November 22, 2024, Gus Bilirakis highlighted the House's passage of the Committing Leases for Energy Access Now Act. He emphasized the importance of "increasing production of diverse energy sources" to enhance energy security and reduce costs for American consumers. "Unleashing American energy means increasing production of diverse energy sources to reduce risks of disruptions, support our energy security,&lower energy costs for American consumers. This week, the House passed the Committing Leases for Energy Access Now Act, with my support."

Later that day, he expressed gratitude to those who supported the legislation's progress through Congress. "I appreciate all your help getting this important legislation across the finish line!"

In another post on November 22, 2024, Bilirakis shared his conversation with Bill Nye about investing in scientific research aimed at developing better treatments for diseases. "It was great to chat with @BillNye the Science Guy about the importance of investing in scientific research that holds the promise for the development of better treatments for diseases."
