Here is a public service announcement from Nikki Alvarez-Sowles, your Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller. Recently, citizens have been contacted by scam artists, claiming to be Clerk's Office employees. They tell the victims that they have missed their jury service and will face fines or even jail time if they don't pay. They suggest the victim pays with a gift card. It is a scam. The scammer then instructs the citizen to call the number back and read the gift card numbers to make sure they are 'legit' before physically mailing them to the Clerk's Office. Just this week, we received more than $3000. from a victim in Port St. Lucie. Here is the Clerk's message ... and please pass it along to all your friends and loved ones! #ServeAndConnect
