Gus Bilirakis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 12th district, shared insights on various topics through a series of tweets in February 2025. His posts highlighted the importance of scouting, communication infrastructure for public safety, and recognition of military service.

On February 8, 2025, Bilirakis emphasized the benefits of scouting for children. He stated that "Scouting helps children develop valuable life skills, such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. It fosters a sense of community, responsibility, and service - encouraging scouts to give back to society."

On February 10, 2025, he addressed the necessity of having a reliable communication system during emergencies. Bilirakis noted that "In order to maximize public safety and ensure continued access to every available option, it is critical to have a robust and widely accessible communication infrastructure in place to alert Americans during emergency situations and natural disasters."

Later on February 10, Bilirakis attended an event honoring military veterans. He expressed gratitude by saying "This weekend I had the chance to attend the Citrus County’s annual Purple Heart Breakfast. I am so grateful for the service and sacrifice of these local heroes." He also recognized Major John McGee with an extension of remarks.
