On March 6, 2025, Bilirakis attended a briefing with Elon Musk concerning waste management within governmental operations. Reflecting on the session he tweeted: "Last night, I attended a @DOGE briefing with @elonmusk He and his team briefed the Republican conference about the work they are doing to root out waste, fraud, and abuse. The Golden Age of America will bring back fiscal sanity!"
