Gus Bilirakis discusses veteran benefits and policy changes

Gus Bilirakis, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 12th district since 2007, has been actively sharing updates on his legislative activities and community engagements through social media. Born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1963, Bilirakis has served in Congress following his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006.

On March 6, 2025, Bilirakis expressed support for a Senate companion to his PAPR Act aimed at aiding veterans. He stated, "I welcome the introduction of the Senate companion to my PAPR Act. Together we will work to remove barriers to Veterans getting the benefits that they’ve earned."

Later that day, he recounted meetings with local officials from Pasco County during a visit to Washington D.C., saying "I had the pleasure of meeting with Pasco County Commissioners Jack Mariano and Kathryn Starkey in DC last week. I also met with Pasco County Fire Safety officials. It was great to discuss ways these local leaders and I can continue working together to strengthen our community and…"

On March 7, 2025, Bilirakis highlighted recent legislative efforts focused on regulatory relief and energy policies. He noted "We are delivering on our promises of regulatory relief, energy independence and lower prices. As part of that effort, we passed measures this week to reverse harmful Biden Administration policies."
