Gus Bilirakis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 12th district, shared several messages on social media addressing a range of issues. He has been serving in this role since taking over from Michael Bilirakis in 2007, following his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives.

On April 5, 2025, Bilirakis commemorated Gold Star Spouses Day, reflecting on the sacrifices made by these individuals and their families, stating, "Today is Gold Star Spouses Day. These men and women and their families have sacrificed so much for our freedom. On behalf of a grateful nation, we honor and remember those they have lost and renew our promise to support those they have left behind!"

On April 7, 2025, he addressed the issue of fraud, particularly highlighting the risks faced by seniors from new technological scams. He tweeted, "Seniors beware – fraudsters are hard at work, using new technologies to prey upon the vulnerable Floridians. This story includes some helpful tips to avoid becoming a victim."

Later in the day on April 7, 2025, Bilirakis criticized the Veterans Affairs department, accusing it of misleadingly reporting financial shortages. He demanded accountability, writing, "Biden’s VA lied about a $3B shortfall, scaring Veterans to get more taxpayer money from Congress. Now we know there was NEVER a shortfall. Using veterans as pawns is disgusting. We must hold those responsible for this incompetence and deceit accountable."
