Gus Bilirakis discusses legislative issues and tributes American soldiers in latest updates

Gus Bilirakis, a member of the United States Congress representing Florida’s 12th District, used social media to communicate about ongoing legislative initiatives and recent events. Bilirakis, who has been serving in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Michael Bilirakis, his father, addressed various issues in a series of recent posts.

On April 3, 2025, Bilirakis reflected on a recent Health Subcommittee hearing, where the topic of discussion included extending the Food and Drug Administration's regulation of over-the-counter medications and promoting domestic manufacturing. Bilirakis emphasized the importance of ensuring that "a system of safe, reliable, and affordable OTC medications for all Americans" exists. "In this week’s Health Subcommittee hearing, we examined the need to extend FDA’s regulation of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and encourage domestic manufacturing of these products to ensure a system of safe, reliable and affordable OTC medications for all Americans."

On April 4, 2025, Bilirakis used his platform to honor American soldiers who died in a training accident in Lithuania. He named the soldiers and recognized their sacrifice and commitment. "Today, we pause to honor the brave American soldiers who tragically lost their lives during a training accident in Lithuania: Staff Sgt. Troy S. In another post on the same day, Bilirakis issued an invitation to seniors residing in Florida’s 12th Congressional District to attend one of his senior forums, continuing his engagement with constituents on a local level. "All seniors who reside in Florida’s 12 Congressional District are invited to participate in one of my upcoming senior forums."
