Gus Bilirakis, a longstanding representative of Florida's 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has been actively engaging with his constituents on various topics. Born in Gainesville, Florida, and residing in Palm Harbor, Bilirakis has served in Congress since 2007 following a stint in the Florida House of Representatives. Bilirakis, a graduate of the University of Florida, recently shared a series of tweets on issues and events touching on education, healthcare, and fiscal responsibility.

On April 2, 2025, Bilirakis extended an invitation to local middle and high school students and their parents. In his post, he stated, "I'm inviting local middle and high school students and their parents to attend my upcoming U.S. Service Academy Night featuring presentations by each of the five U.S. Service Academies. Participants will learn about the Congressional nomination process and about how to prepare". The event promises to cover the Congressional nomination process and guide participants on preparation.

Later that day, Bilirakis highlighted issues of fraud, waste, and abuse within the system. At 19:10 UTC on April 2, he tweeted, "Yet another example of fraud, waste and abuse plaguing our system. By recouping the double payments insurance companies have received, we can help ensure the sustainability of this critical program." The tweet underscores a commitment to ensuring the sustainability of critical programs by addressing overpayments to insurance companies.

On April 3, 2025, Bilirakis shared insights from a discussion with local dental professionals and students. He remarked, "I enjoyed talking with local dentists from my district and UF Dental students this week about the challenges facing their profession and ways we can encourage positive oral health strategies to prevent inflation and disease." This interaction reflected an ongoing dialogue between the congressman and local stakeholders on issues pertinent to healthcare and disease prevention.
